Australian facility aims to produce 50,000 metric tons of building material from CO2 by 2020

Carbon dioxide emissions could be converted into a useful building material in a project from Australian firm Mineral Carbonation International (MCi). They just unveiled a research pilot plant at the Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources. It appears they took a hint from nature: the company says their process mimics but speeds up weathering from rainfall that produces rocks. Related:
