New York City’s United War Veterans Council Recycling Program recently announced its achievement of recycling a whopping 2.9 million pounds of clothing and household goods in 2014. The incredible feat saved NY taxpayers $100 per ton, totaling a savings of almost $150,000 in 2014 alone. The UWVC recycled 30 percent more textiles in 2014 than in 2013, and they hope to blast through their record againg by the end of 2015.
