Residents living near the F train’s East Broadway stop have been inconvenienced by the subway station’s broken escalator for nearly two years. Despite continual promises by the MTA to have the escalator fixed, the completion date has been pushed back numerous times, including another delay today, when it was changed to February 28th. The area around the station is home to a large elderly population as well as families with children, who have had to sidestep the construction and use the stairs since 2012.
