Bicycle highway in the Netherlands built using recycled toilet paper

  Did you know? Every year, residents in the Netherlands use an estimated 180,000 tons of toilet paper. Because this amounts to a lot of trees, the Dutch province of Friesland repurposed the product to make a bicycle highway last fall. The stretch of roadway is 1 kilometer and connects the Frisian capital of Leeuwarden to the town of Stiens.
